Kaiser Permanente 5K Run/Walk

July 15, 2011

Hi Everyone!

My company is participating in the Kaiser Permanente 5k run/walk. Each year, Kaiser Permanente puts on an after-work corporate run and fun walk that draws more than 15,000 participants from over 350 companies across Atlanta. Teams are comprised of companies, but family and friends are able to participate through a company as well.

Our CEO, Mike Scarbrough, will be participating in the CEO category. Mike will receive a specially marked CEO bib and will start up front with the other CEOs in Atlanta, so come out and support Mike! The event takes place on Thursday, September 8th at 7:00pm. The race starts and finishes at Turner Field, where there will be a Discrete Wireless company area, live music, refreshments for runners/walkers and booths. For more information, you can visit http://www.kpcorporaterunwalk.com/. This event is not just for runners, but walkers too, so everyone has a chance to participate.

Want to be part of the Discrete Wireless team? This event is for friends and family too! You can register at:

  1. Good luck with the Kaiser Permanente Run/Walk program! I participated in a similar program when I lived in New York City – I had a blast and met some really nice folks.

How do you deal with the very hot weather in Atlanta?

    Nancy

  2. Yeah, we’re really exicted about participating! Any tips on events like this?

The heat has been unbelievable here lately. I went to Tampa for work last week and the temps were higher in Atlanta. I’ve just been running after 8:00pm lately to avoid overheating.

  3. HI Nicole – it’s been a while since I participated in such an event, but a few ideas come to mind.

    1. Tell everyone you know about this event. I assume you’ve tweeted it and put it on Facebook. Could you get any local businesses to put up flyers about the event?

    Good luck!

    Nancy
